Unscrupulous Individuals Stealing Gov't Electricity Cables Will Face The Law - Cape Coast Mayor Warns
The Mayor of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur, has warned that immoral individuals found stealing government electricity cables within the metropolis will be arrested and made to face the full rigours of the law.
Hon. Arthur gave the warning at the Emintsimadze Palace of the Oguaa Traditional Area, while donating 50 executive chairs and 2 dustbins for use at the Cape Coast palace on Wednesday, 2nd September, 2026, in celebration of the 2026 Oguaa Fetu Afahye.

According to the Mayor, the Assembly has observed with concern the increasing theft of public electricity cables in some parts of the metropolis, a situation he said retards development.
He noted that the dustbins donated form part of the Assembly’s target to make Cape Coast the cleanest metropolis in Ghana.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Traditional Council, Osabarimba Dr. Kwesi Atta II, Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, thanked the Mayor for the kind gesture and appealed for more support for other projects the palace seeks to undertake.
He assured that the chairs and dustbins would be put to good use and called on residents to support the Assembly's clean-up agenda.
