The Central Regional Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has finally elected a substantive President after four (4) years, in the person of Clarence Kenneth Ekow Peterson Jnr, affectionately referred to as 'King Pee' in the showbiz industry.
The union since Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour) left office in 2019 has never had the opportunity to hold election to elect new executives, both National and Region over series of court injunctions.
'King Pee' until the election has been a renowned Artiste Manage in the Central Region.
The election saw contestants who vied for various Executive Positions in the region all proceed unopposed with the exception of the Presidential position which witnessed the Region's President elect and incumbent who reigned for two terms (8years), Nana Ekua Apeatsewah Il, known popularly as 'Queen Wan' battle it out.
The nationwide polls as scheduled by the union came off on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the Ato Austin Gardens in Cape Coast.
Having witnessed a calm electoral atmosphere with no spoilt ballot, Clarence Ekow Peterson pulled 47 votes out of the total vote cast, whereas the overthrown President had 7 votes.
Clarence Ekow Peterson following his triumphant victory, told Sompa News Eric Annan, he is in to unite all divided quarters in the region's music industry under one umbrella.
He further assured artistes in the Central Region of having a new Artiste Manager in him, as he has come to lessen the woes of both the main stream and underground artistes to reap the fruit of their God given talent as musicians.
