Ashanti Region /Regional Minister engages stakeholders on the Suame Four-tier interchange
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon Simon Osei Mensah has today met with stakeholders who have been affected by the construction of the Suame four-tier interchange which commences in early January 2023.
The minister together with the national director for Urban roads, Gottfried Amo had an extensive discussion with the supposed affected property owners and the general public and briefed them on the construction process.
He said all is set for the construction of the interchange and that calls for property owners to move their properties before December 31st, 2022.
He added the government is ready to negotiate with the affected stakeholders and pay them their due restitutions.
“The government is ready to pay off every affected person whose property may destroy due to the construction of the road, today's meeting is to brief them on the process and the readiness of the contractors so that they can speed up their preparations and find a suitable place before we start demolition exercise, he told Eric Murphy.
The Suame Interchange project will consist of a four-tier interchange at the current Suame Roundabout, with overpasses at the Abrepo, Krofrom, Anomangye, Magazine New Road and Abusuakruwa junctions.
It will be the first four-tier interchange in the Ashanti Region and the second in the country, after the Pokuase Interchange in the Greater Accra Region.
Construction of the interchange will be undertaken by M/S Grupo Dizmar of Spain and Rango Construction Limited, a Ghanaian company, while the complementary road component will be undertaken wholly by a Ghanaian firm, Rango Construction Company Limited, with the supervision of the entire project being the responsibility of the Ministry of Roads and Highways, through the Department of Urban Roads.
In attendance were the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hom Simon Osei Mensah, National Director for Urban Roads, James Amo Gottfried, Ashanti Regional Director of Urban roads, Francis Gambra, Maud Gbeckor-Kove, Development Engineer, Jose Zilhao Figuera, Director, of infrastructure projects for Rango and many others.
