The member of parliament for the Nhyiaso constituency, Honorable Stephen Amoah has waged labor union resistance against the debt restructuring initiative by the government.
Mr. Sticka said the whole saga is not an imposition from the government but a proposed arrangement.
“we should understand that the government has not imposed this, it's a proposal, so we must establish that fact,” he said.
He said, at no point must the labor unions be the fault however the current economic nemesis has hurt the Ghanaian economy which the labor union must understand and help the government go through to resuscitate the bleeding economy.
“We can't blame the workers union, it's not their fault, I can't tell if negotiations with the government have not been well received but in a situation where there's a global economic crisis, it's just prudent that the labor unions will come to terms of agreement for the government to execute this to revive the economy,” he said.
He has pleaded with the labor unions to bear with the government as this is a trying moment
“We need to understand where we are today and help the government and ourselves, it's the county's situation, not the individual, what can we do if the market is saturated and declines in value, must we destroy our country because of that” we empathize with everyone” this arrangement will rather going forward will help us than to fight against it, even though it not by force” he pleaded.
