The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress Mr. John Asiedu Nketia has confessed that the NDC dragged the Electoral Commission of Ghana to court over the 2020 elections petition at the time the party had no valid collated results.
According to a leaked audio tape believed to be Asiedu Nketia’s voice which has gone viral on the social media, the embattled chief scribe of the NDC alleged that the party’s head of IT Mr. Osei Kwame Griffiths failed to provide the party with the valid results.
He indicated during a meeting with some NDC delegates in the Bono Region of Sunyani that the current Chairman, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo vouched for Mr. Osei Kwame Griffiths as the head of the party’s I.T. at a meeting he threatened to resign if former President John Mahama would interfere with the appointment of Mr. Osei Kwame Griffiths.
Mr. Asideu Nketia in the alleged tape confessed that he knew before mounting the witness box during the election petition hearing that the party had no collated results adding that he was frank with the court by acceding that he had no results disprove what the Electoral Commissions has collated.
He further maintained that Mr. Osei Kwame Griffiths failed to do so because he said the system he had used to collate the results got crushed.
He suspects further during the discussion with the party delegates that the party chairman, Mr. Samuel Ofoso Ampofo has bad relations with former President John Mahama who he still believes was the NDC’s last bet for the 2024 general elections.
