“Appiatse Disaster” work steadily ongoing - Joyce Aryee
Chairperson of the Appiatse support committee, Joyce Aryee has said construction of structures for the affected Appiatse disaster is steadily ongoing.
In an interview with Sompa Tv, Madam Aryee said, livelihood will improve for the people due to structures outlined to support the victims and the people of Appiatse.
“We have made provisions for everyone, those who had a single room can now boast of a room, a living room with veranda, kitchen, and toilet, likewise those who had a complete house, we have improved it significantly,” she said.
According to her, the support fund committee is directly not involved in the construction of structures but rather The Appiatse Reconstruction team however they are making sure they supervise the successful completion of all structures.
She further said the support committee has settled all bills relating to the victims but added that help has ceased forthcoming due to low publicity.
According to her, The first phase of the project, which is the core component of the work, involves the reconstruction of 124 housing units.
Out of that number, 106 units are under construction, with some at the foundation and others at the lintel level.
