The National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress, Joseph Yamin has embark on communal labour by identifying and weeding around all abandoned projects started during the previous NDC regime in the Ashanti Region and has explained the rationale behind it.
In a conversation with Sompa news, the outspoken organizer said governance is continuity but successive governments continuously abandoned projects that have seen light during the previous administrations.
He said the NPP government has abandoned projects initiated by the NDC government which has cost the state a lot of money, leaving them in a state of deterioration.
“This government is very wicked to the people of Ghana especially those in the Ashanti Region, people complain about the abandoned project yet this government are adamant, you will not add up nor complete the existing ones. There are a lot of projects been abandoned, Fomena, and Kumawu hospitals are left in the bush, Apagya, Fumso, Kwabenafosu E-block schools are left to rot in the bush.
The former deputy Ashanti Regional Minister explained that people tend to sabotage the previous government of lack of projects but there are a lot of projects started by the NDC government which has been abandoned by the current administration and that is the reason together with his team has started weeding around all abandoned projects to bring them to light.
“They say to see is believing, so together with the regional executives, we joined the constituency executive in the Adansi to work on the abandoned projects.
According to him, the goal is to bring all abandoned projects by the former president to light.
He added that it's not going to be a one-day wonder but quarterly planned projects they will be embarking on including all deteriorated roads, schools, hospitals, and others.
