The Old students of Wenchi Methodist Senior High School (Wess) 1977 year group have accomplished a water project for the school.
The motive behind the project according to the chairman was to lessen the burden of students walking about 6 kilometers in the morning to get water for cooking and bathing before they go to school and walking the same distance after school.
He said one of the challenges confronting the school is quality water so they decided to dig a modern one for the school.
According to Rev Dr. Ayensu Mensah, water is life and so they did this to save the lives of the students.
The project which started in early 2020 was to complete after a year but due to some challenges in the drilling, they were unable to meet the set time.
The project according to the chairman cost them 40.000 Ghs.
The Presiding Bishop of Methodist Church Ghana Most Rev Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo who is also an old Student in 1977 year told the students to take their studies seriously and emulate the gesture of their predecessors.
He charged the students to respect and cooperate while complimenting the efforts of the teachers.
