An INTERPOL delegation from the France based Headquarters on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General and management of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) at the headquarters in Accra.
The call was to discuss and strengthen operational relationships between the two institutions with a common goal of combating transnational organised crime, particularly narcotics-related crimes.
The meeting was also intended to pave the way for the Commission to take advantage of INTERPOL's available data base platforms in order to improve operational activities.
Mr Kenneth Adu-Amanfoh, Director-General of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), expressed the Commission's willingness to collaborate with INTERPOL to achieve a common goal of combating organised crime.
He assured the delegation that the Commission is open to any and all engagements that would help to improve the capacity of the Commission's staff and thanked them for their visit.
Mr David Caunter, Coordinator Drugs Unit with oversight responsibility for INTERPOL's Criminal Networks Sub-Directorate, thanked the Director-General for the warm welcome and assures the Director-General that INTERPOL is ready and fully committed to support NACOC’s activities and make all available tools to the Commission to achieve its mandate.
Mr Caunter was accompanied by several senior INTEROL officers, including Mr Ervin Prenci, Senior Project Manager with oversight responsibility for the Maritime Security Sub-Directorate.
