The Bono East regional chairman of the Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (GAMLS), who is also a lecturer and the Head of the Department of Medical Diagnostics at Kintampo College of Health and Well-Being, Mr. Moses Kofi Woli has explained the complicated nature of treating virus-induced infections.
In a telephone interview with High radio in the Ahafo region monitored by Sompaonline.com, Mr. Kofi Woli indicated that some viral diseases does not require the intake of medicine to cure them because the Human Immune System may be capable of fighting against them in due course, however, there are some that require the intake of medicines.
“The general treatment of viral diseases is very much complicated, the viruses after getting access into the human body take over the human cells which leads to multiple productions of the viruses by the human cells therefore an attempt to kill the virus to get relieved will result to the gradual killing of the cell in the human system which is tantamount to killing oneself”, he stressed.
Mr. Woli Moses therefore advised the general public to embark on regular exercise and also eat more fruits and vegetables which according to him will strengthen the immune system to be able to fight against infections.
