Benedicta Sarfoa Asamoah, winner of TV reality show 'Ghana's Most Beautiful 2021' has today the 2nd of February presented a citation to the Director General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Mr. Isaac Kofi Egyir at the Prisons Headquarters in Accra.
The citation is a symbol of gratitude for the assistance and guidance of the the Director General in helping her achieve the goals of her Prison Reform Project which was launched in May, 2022 at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
The project is to revamp Ghana's Justice System and retool the Prison Service to ensure proper reintegration after release.
The Sarfoa Foundation has within a period of two(2) years trained prison inmates in vocational skills, donated pharmaceuticals and toiletries to several prison facilities, health screening and refurbished the Information Communication Technology laboratory at the Senior Correctional Centre and stocked it with tablets and desktop computers.
The Prisons ambassador and chief executive of the Sarfoa Foundation, expressed her profound appreciation to the Prisons Directorate, the committee that collaborated with her project and the entire service for the opportunity given her to reach out and contribute her quota to effective reformation and reintegration in Ghana."I still have other interventions I want to embark on this year, like capacity building for inmates, I will begin at the Nsawam female prison very soon", She added.
Sarfoa explained that the intervention will not end with the training but will also the necessary tools and start up capitals for beneficiaries after their release.
