Lawyer for embattled Suame Constituency Youth Organizer, Mr. Razak Koampa Avoliya who was heard in a viral video inciting violence comments has said the NDC Party or his client is not bothered by his detention in an interview with Omanhene Adu Boachie earlier on Thursday, February 9th, 2023.
The lawyer, Evans Amankwah said his client's comment has been taken out of contention and that he misspoke in his comment, adding that he did not mean harm that could disrupt the peace the country is enjoying.
He explained that his client meant that the NDC in the Suame constituency has suffered at the hands of the ruling NPP within the constituency, hence his intention to caution his party members to stay aloof and be on guard.
According to Lawyer Amankwah, speaking in public, especially on the radio and Tv can create tension when you are not careful with your words and that is what has happened to his client.
“If you forget yourself in public, you can make unnecessary comments because if you are not guarded, you may say certain things you have never thought of, and that is what happened, it's not his intention, no, he can't even kill, he's not that person, even the NPP within the constituency know he is not like that, he said.
He further explained that the court has charged him with an offense of conduct that could breach the peace of the nation.
According to him, his client has taken full responsibility for his utterances and is not afraid of being in the cells.
Meanwhile, party supporters have gathered on the premises of the Asokwa District Court 4 where proceedings have begun, singing and chanting for the release of their youth organizer.
