Akwamuhen of Nkusukum Traditional Area in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region, Nana Appredontwe IX has impelled government to go after assailants behind the gruesome murder of astute Ghanaian investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein Suale.
According to him, attacks launched on journalists going about their daily routine contrary to their fundamental human right are increasingly far too many as government when able to bring murderers of Ahmed Suale to book will help ease off fears from journalists within the country to work freely without panic.
He told Sompa FM/TV Reporter Eric Annan after a human right workshop held in Cape Coast.
The undercover journalist who worked with the Tiger Eye PI met his untimely death after his instrumental role played in Anas Aremeyaw Anas' famous 'No.12 exposé' which saw former Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kwesi Nyantakyi axed off his duties both in the country and CAF concurrently, together with dozens of match officials captured on camera receiving bribe.
Ahmed Suale's saddened death occurred after some unidentified gunmen shot him twice on the neck and chest at Madina on his way home.
Nana Appredontwe addressing the ill treatment pressmen often go through in Ghana remarked that as the investigative journalist didn't kill himself but someone else, pleaded to government to fish such individuals out for the law to have its bite on them.
The chief, in his submission appealed to government that Ahmed Suale is also a human being, hence should do well in arresting the culprits and subsequently prosecute them.
He equally apprised the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) to passionately seek to the safety and well-being of its members. CUE IN... Nana Appredontwe IX.
