Twenty-two (22) year Senior High School graduate, Evans Wireko has met his untimely in the hands of some irate group at a Galamsey site in Fobinso close to Denkyira Obuasi in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region.
The deceased is said to have been stoned to death.
Report gathered by Sompa TV/FM Reporter Eric Annan indicates the deceased, Evans Wireko, a resident of Denkyira Ayanfuri together with his friend purportedly went for illegal mining at the said mining pit.
Probings to the incident further depict that the deceased and friend were busily working at the site when they got attacked with stones, sticks, and broken blocks by the incensed group believed to be the legitimate owners of the galamsey pit.
The friend in the cause of the action managed to escape.
Mother to the deceased, Madam Salamatu Issaka on how she got previewed to her son's death, said, she only heard a body has been stoned to death hence decided to go and have a look at the scene, only to find out it was her son.
According to the mother, her son on Sunday Evening told her he is going to work but didn't heard from him again till his demise.
Assembly Member for Denkyira Ayanfuri Electoral Area, Hon. Kwabena Aning Castro speaking to Sompa News remarked to suspect a foul play in the gruesome murder of the deceased as he declared Evans was intentionally killed.
He, however, apportioned blame to both the Chief of Fobinso and the Upper Denkyira West District Police Personnels for not helping in the attempt to save the deceased when they got to the crime case.
