Gingers growers have urged government to treat them equally and fairly as cocoa farmers, saying this would help the development of the nation.
"Ginger has more natural benefits to the human and other living organisms in treatment of sicknesses and others."
"Ginger can be processed into ginger paste, powder, ginger drinks, it can be mixed with bakery flours", Madam Sulemana Regina, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for A1 KOSSAF Ginger Farmers and Processers Association said in an interview with the media.
She called on the government to come to their aid and assist them with loans, fertilizers and other farm inputs to enhance their farming activities.
She urged the government to make arrangements and purchase ginger just as cocoa and give them equal attention.
Madam Regina entreated the youth to engage in ginger farming than relying always on the government for employment and waiting for nom existing white color jobs.
Some of the farmers who also spoke to the media urged the government to intervene in their daily farming activities and help them have a market control price for their produce.
