19-year-old Junior High School graduate, Innocent Aidoo has gone crippled after being subjected to severe brutality by a spiritualist and some men in military uniform at Gomoa Mprumem in the Gomoa West District of the Central region.

Aidoo who was preparing for Senior High School had himself, his mum, and two other siblings attacked by Abdulai Nyamekye also known as Mallam Yawadudu, a spiritualist based in Gomoa Ankamu near Gomoa Mprumem with some unidentified military men.

According to doctors, part of his spinal cord and waist got fractured. The severity of the attack caused him to go into a coma for several days only to regain consciousness paralyzed.

After spending days at the Catholic Hospital, the victim, Innocent Aidoo was transferred to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital and later transferred to Korle Bu where he still showed little sign of improvement.

A report by Sompa TV/FM reporter Eric Annan reveals the victim’s father had a monetary dispute over a galamsey business conducted with Mallam Yawadudu at Kwakukwaa, a small community close to Mprumem.

The spiritualist and the said military officers upon meeting the absence of Aidoo’s father at the family residence resorted to brutalizing them amidst sporadic gunshots.

Innocent Aidoo sharing his ordeal over the matter with Eric Annan, appealed for justice to have its full cause on the accused persons.

Vida Arthur, a neighbor to the family narrated how she witnessed the occurrence she described as horrific.

The family of the victim, however, appeals to the state for justice to be delivered as the matter is currently pending before the Agona Swedru circuit court.

When contacted by Mallam Yawadudu, the spiritualist declined to say a word about the incident.

Aidoo at the moment has been moved to a different residence to recover from his sustained trauma.
