A breast-feeding mother has died at the spot as 23 others have sustained various degrees of injury after three cars involved in fatal accident at Gomoa Anteadze on the Apam-Cape Coast Highway in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region.
The nursing mother who died at the spot got her hand chopped off in the accident which occurred on Monday, February 27, 2023 around 4:43PM.
Eyewitnesses reveal, a Mitsubishi Outlander with registration number GB4415 -22 from Accra to Cape Coast made a wrongful overtaking and hit the side of a Toyota Fish with registration number GW 8017 -19 in the opposite direction.
In an interview with Sompa News’ reporter Eric Annan, an eyewitness Nana Sekyi revealed that the Mitsubishi bus in the course of the accident also landed on the Hyundai I10 which was behind the Toyota Fish.
Nana Sekyi remarked, one died on the spot after trooping off from the moving car while three others sustained severe injuries.
Meanwhile, the Ghana National Fire Service's Apam Operation Officer, Abdallah Ibrahim disclosed, all injured casualties are currently receiving treatment at Apam St. Luke's Catholic Hospital.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Apam Government Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
Police and Fire Service are calling on the general public to go for an identification.
They are also advising the general public especially drivers to drive with care.
