A passenger believed to be in his 60's has been found dead in a sprinter van with registration number AS 1965-12 at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.
Facts gathered by Sompa TV/FM Reporter Eric Annan reveals, the deceased whose identity is yet be discovered was found dead on the first seat behind the driver after boarding the long journey vehicle from Kumasi to Mankessim upon showing signs of sickness.
The sad incident occurred on Friday, 3rd March, 2023 around 4:00pm.
Shama, driver to the vehicle speaking to Sompa News recounted, his attention was only drawn to the man's death by a hawker who the deceased called to patronize her food after alighting at Mankessim.
He expressed shock to see the lifeless body of the deceased in the car right behind him.
GPRTU Chairman for the Mankessim Station, Mr. Kweku Hameed said it's the first time such incident has happened at their Station as efforts are in place to locate deceased's family.
On reporting the case to the police, the GPRTU Chairman disclosed the driver has reported the incident to the Mankessim Police Station where his statement was taken.
Body of deceased has been deposited at the Saltpond Government Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
