Vice Chancellor for the University of Cape Coast, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong has at the school's 54th Congregation for its 6th session of College of Education Studies graduands disclosed, the University through the Institute of Education is mentoring all Colleges Of Education in the country in addition to its affiliated colleges.
The initiative according to the professor is scheduled to end after the first cohort of students pursuing Bachelor of Education programs of service is completed.
He told Sompa News Reporter Eric Annan, the institute is currently undertaking an activity dubbed "Adopt A School Project". Initiated by the College of Education Studies to improve teaching and learning for selected low-performing basic schools within the Cape Coast Metropolis which commenced in January 2022 and is slated to end on December 2023.
The graduation ceremony saw 15,142 Degree and Diploma students confer various academic honoring at the University's New Examination Centre (NEC) on Friday, 3rd March 2023.
Professor Nyarko Boampong speaking at the ceremony remarked, the tertiary institution has also collaborated with the National Teaching Council in organizing continuous professional development programs for in-service teachers in selected districts in the Central Region.
According to him, the University is in preparation to confirm its first batch of Bachelor of Education Degree students who have completed the new four-year program in the various Colleges of Education across the country.
