Obuasi East District joins the nation in the celebration of Ghana’s 66th Independence Day. The celebration which took place at Boete School Park had over 700 students from 25 selected schools comprises of Kindergarten (KG), Primary, Junior High School and Senior High Schools in the District.
The District Chief Executive Hon. Faustina Amissah called on residents to unite towards advocating for the development of the district.
The Member of Parliament for the Obuasi East Constituency Dr. Patrick Boakye-Yiadom who was the Special Guest of Honor talked about the relevance of the Independence Day parade. He said the Independence Day Celebrations present opportunity for the country to reflect on how to chart a new course towards development.
At the end of the vigorous March Past competition Ayease JHS was crowned winners in the JHS category whiles Mampamhwe and Jimiso won the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
In the primary category, Len Clay Memorial School at Odumasi were crowned winners, Action Chapel came 2nd whiles Boete primary came 3rd.
Artic Senior High School was declared winners in the Senior High category whiles Jimiso Kindergarten (KG) were also adjudged winners in the KG category.
