Chief of Ankaful, a suburb of the Cape Coast North constituency in the Central Region, Nana Obura Asankoma Ansa lll has gone hard on the Nana Addo-led government over its decision to reintroduce the abolished toll collection system.
According to him, governance which stands as a major tool for development has nothing to do with "matra marquer" which translates “try and error."
He told Sompa News reporter Eric Annan that certain decisions when carried out as a government without consulting key stakeholders give room for criticism, particularly from the opposition half.
The learned chief in his submission quizzed the government on how well its reversed tollbooth decision has been addressed and thought out in other not to end up in a ditch as occurred previously.
He called for the sacking of Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Attah, the Roads and Highways Minister together with his advisers instead of being prosecuted as suggested by some Ghanaians for causing financial loss to the state with his below par decision to abolish the toll collection system to suddenly hit the reverse button.
Meanwhile, the Roads Minister who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Atiwa West constituency has said, the toll collection directive wasn't for abolishment but to halt the operational duties due to some unfortunate precedence which used to occur at various toll centres.
