The Ghanaian authorities have been charged to be bold and speak truth to the Western World countries that engagement in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer (LGBTQ) is unacceptable, ungodly and immoral, hence the country would never accept it.
Rev Benjamin Appiah, Chairperson of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery stated that, Ghana must not harbor the fear of losing grants and donations from these Western World countries that have accepted LGBTQ+
"Ghana as a country has lost its values and culture with the continuous immoral activities committed. Sometime ago, it was difficult for one to even mention the names of the sex organs of male and female but now it has been something that appears normal in the eyes of people."
Speaking to congregants of the Hope Congregation of the Presbyterian church of Ghana at Fiapre in the Sunyani West municipality of the Bono region Friday April 7 during the Good Friday Service, Rev Appiah indicated that, "The President should have been bold to tell the USA Vice President, Kamala Harris that Ghana would never accept this ungodly act and this cannot be seen as a human right."
"Some time ago, traditional authorities would fine you for having sexual intercourse in the bush. You would be made to perform some rituals to cleanse the land and appease the gods of any calamity that may befall the community as a result of that act. There was peace in our lands at that time. But what do we see today?” he quizzed.
Speaking on the theme, “Dying with the Lord”, Rev Appiah wondered why human beings could sleep with animals and describe it as human rights. He called on traditional authorities and true men of God to rise and reject this abominable act.
