The secretary for wood sellers association at Akotialine, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region, Mohammed Umar has accused the Asokore Mampong Chief Executive Officer Hon Kennedy Kankam for given the opportunity to some contractors relocate them despite working in the area for the last five years.

He said, he has called them (city authorities) for a sit down negotiation yet things have not gone true for about one and half years now.

"We haven't received  any letter from authorities and notice have been served us on this relocation then all of a sudden the contractor has come to make fence wall at our working place", he emphasized.

"We plead with the MCE to intervene quickly for us because our properties are inside and we need to access them."

Mr Mohammed alleged that, some individuals believed to be macho men came to abuse some of the sellers for not leaving the area.

He said these when the association called for press conference to send a signal to the municipal authorities for what they describe as a wrongful attempt to relocate them.
