The King of the Ga State; His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II and his elders have placed ban on noise making across the Ga State.
The ban starts on May 15, 2023 and is expected to be lifted on June 15,2023.
The Chiefs expect that churches, mosques, restaurants, nights clubs, street envangelism, funeral rights and any object of noise making is banned.
Addressing the media and the elders of the Ga state, the Public Relation Officer of the Palace, Nii Abossey Asikogya I charged all citizens and residents of the Ga land to observe this annual ritual of the noise making.
The ban on noise making is an annual ritual to pay respect to the ancestral gods and also a preparation towards the 2023 Homowo Festival.
Nii Abossey Asikogya added that, a task force in collaboration with the Regional Security Council will be deployed to ensure that people observe this rite of the Ga state.
“I wants to use this medium to appeal to citizens of the Ga State to refrain from making derogatory comments about the Ga Tradition as such offenders would be dealt with accordingly,” he stated.
