The management of Islamic Education Unit on behalf of the National Council of Islamic Education Unit has declared Thursday, 20^th and Friday, 21^st April 2023 as holidays for all Muslim schools. This is in accordance with a statement issued by the Islamic Education Unit Ghana Edueducatcation Service.

“In view of the fact that this year’s Ramadan will end on either Thursday 20^th, or Friday 21^st, of April 2023, the management of Islamic Education Unit on behalf of National Council of Islamic Education Unit declares Thursday 20^th, and Friday 21^st, April 2023 respectively as holiday to enable Muslims of the unit to end and observe this year’s fasting, prayer and Id Ftr celebration successfully.” the statement noted.

This will be observed in line with the legislative instrument by the Act of Parliament concerning the celebration of Idul Fitr across the country. “Per the Islamic calendar, the Id will be performed either on Friday 21^st, or Saturday 22^nd, of April 2023” it added.

According to the statement, It is expected of Muslims under the Islamic Education Unit in Ghana for that matter all schools under Islamic Education Unit to observe the directive above.
