Mr. Otoo Acquah, a businessman, has allegedly shot and killed an agent of QNet Company at Kwasi Larbi, a community in the Suhum municipality of the Eastern Region.
According to the Assembly Member of the area, the unfortunate incident happened on Saturday, April 22.
The source noted that the agents of Qnet Company, numbering four including the deceased, were spotted by the landlord, Mr. Otoo Acquah, searching for ripped pears.
According to the source, unsure of their identities, he allegedly fired a gunshot, hitting one of them, who was ordered by the businessman to climb down from the pear tree.
The Assemblyman, Abanga Kwesi Larbi, said the other Qnet agents fled the scene out of fear and reported the incident to their leaders.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the man allegedly shot the Qnet agent because he suspected they had entered his house unlawfully to steal his iron rods.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Suhum Government Hospital. The businessman who shot the QNet agent is in police custody.
