Kwadwo Owusu an electrician who resides at Effiduase has been sentenced to 12yrs imprisonment for stealing electrical cables belonging to MTN Ghana.
Court prosecutor ASP Newlove Adjei told the court presided over by H/H Fred Obekyere Esq that on 3rd May, 2023 complainant who is a member of a watchdog’s committee received information that Kwadwo Owusu was on a light pole stealing wires that belongs to MTN Ghana.
Complainant proceeded to the scene and met accused person on the light poles busily stealing cables.
Complainant apprehended accused with the stolen wires and brought him to the Suntreso police station and lodged an official report.
Kwadwo Owusu admitted committing the crime and reiterated that he normally sells the wires to scrap dealers.
After investigation, Kwadwo Owusu was found guilty and was sentenced to 12-years imprisonment in hard labour.
