Four vehicles traveling in different directions on the Apam-Mankessim highway on Monday afternoon got crashed into each other at Ekumfi Edukuma in the Ekumfi District in the Central Region following a roadside bushfire.
An eyewitness told Sompa TV/FM's Eric Annan, a Toyota Highlander with registration number GS 9645-19 was traveling towards Apam whiles a Ford E35 with registration number GE 3383-12 was heading in the opposite direction when the Highlander run into the Ford vehicle over poor visibility due to smokey environment caused by a bushfire right at the shoulder of the road.
A Mecedes Benz Sprinter with registration number GW 7271-12 together with an Acura vehicle with registration number GT 2364-15 following the Toyota Highlander run into each other which saw the Highlander veer off the road into the burning bush to also caught fire.
According to personnel of the Mfantseman Municipal fire service command who rushed to the scene to salvage the situation indicated that no casualties were recorded but for the vehicles which suffered various degrees of damages.
The Central Regional Fire Service Commander, ACFO l John Amarlai Amartey had earlier warned citizenry to desist from bushfires.
An act he described to be a canker confronted by the region's fire service command few days to this bushfire related incident.
