Wednesday 10th May, 2023. The new Chief Director for the Ministry of Education, Mrs. Maamle Andrews and her entourage embarked on familiarization tour of Agencies under the Ministry for Education.
At the Ghana TVET Service Headquarters located in East Legon, Shiashie the Chief Director and her entourage called on the Director General for Ghana TVET Service, Madam Mawusi Nudekor Awity as part of activities to familiarize herself with Agency Heads under the Ministry for Education and key stakeholders in the Education sector as part of her familiarization tour.
Director General for Ghana TVET Service Mawusi Nudekor Awity in her welcome address stated that, the Service was full of joy to have a team from the Ministry of Education visit Ghana TVET Service for the very first time since its launching. She added that the Ghana TVET Service though the youngest,is result oriented.
Director General for Administration at the Ministry for Education, Mrs Catherine Appiah- Pinkrah said the Ministry have been without a substantive Chief Director for over a year.
According to Director Appiah- Pinkrah, Mrs Mamle Andrews has over thirty years of experience in the Service and the first female Chief Director of the Ministry for Education.
According to the Chief Director, Mrs. Maamle Andrews addressing Management and staff of the Ghana TVET Service acknowledged the hardworking Director General, for Ghana TVET Service Mawusi Nudekor Awity for her exemplary leadership and transformational polices transforming TVET in Ghana.
Mrs. Maamle Andrews emphasised the importance of Technical Education in Ghana and its relevance to job creation and decent incomes and why she will be a keen supporter in promoting TVET. Mrs Andrews urged staff to always be result oriented as they have always been so we can transform GHANA through TVET.
Mr Franklin Eshun of the Training Assessment and Quality Assurance Division of the Ghana TVET made a brief presentation on the background and achievements of the Service within two years of its existence to the Chief Director and her entourage.
In the retinue of the New Chief Director were the Director General, Administration, Mrs. Catherine Appiah-Pinkrah, Mr. Abdul Razak-Umar, Director, HRD, Lawyer Matilda Azumah, Director Legal, Ms. Rejoice Dankwa, Director, Hajia Nana Fatima High, Coordinator GEOP, Mr. Larry George Botway, Head, Public Relations, Ms. Christiana Akrong, Deputy Director and Ms. Keren Amoo, Assistant Director.
