An unidentified man believed to be in his early thirty's has met his untimely death after a Man-Diesel Truck with registration number AS 5942-10 loaded with wood capsized on him at Assin Fosu Masalachi roundabout in the Assin Central Municipality in the Central Region.

Incident occurred on Thursday, May 18, 2023 around 9:30pm as the cause of the accident is yet to be established.

Upon several hours of applied rescue mechanisms by firemen of the Assin Fosu fire service division, body of the deceased was retrieved, mutilated beyond recognition.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Central Regional Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Divisional Officer (DOIII) Abdul Wasiu Hudu told Sompa TV/FM's Eric Annan that both the driver and mate to the truck escape unharmed with the case taken up by the Assin Fosu Police Command.

He said that residents of the community who trooped to the accident scene to witness the tragic event couldn't identify the deceased due to the extent to which his body was defected.

Deceased's body has been deposited to the St. Francis Xavier Hospital morgue at Assin Fosu for preservation as investigation to the case persist.
