Pupils in Denkyira Atobease M/A Basic School in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central Region were fear-griped and have to escape for their lives after five (5) snakes invaded their classroom during lesson hours.
A report by Sompa News Eric Annan reveals, the snakes fell off the roof and landed on pupils desks.
Shouts by the students drew the attention of residents around the school who rushed to the scene and offered help in killing the snakes.
The incident since its occurrence has left students with the fear of experiencing snake bite whenever they're made to go to school.
PTA Secretary for Atobease M/A Basic School, Kweku Asem, bemoaned that the school aside being threatened by snakes equally has other dangerous reptiles that often troop to the school compound, making it imperil for teaching and learning.
Nana Nkwantabesa, chief of the area expressed concern over the school's inadequacy of qualified teachers.
He lamented the refusal of trained teachers posted to teach at the school has forced the community to employ the services of Senior and Junior High graduates to rather teach students amid the school's poor condition.
School authorities together with opinion leaders in the community, therefore called on the government to urgently come to the aid of the school before things get out of hands.
