The headmistress of Apam Senior High School in the Gomoa West Constituency of the Central Region, Madam Comfort Essah-Amoaful has said that her school is ever-committed to offer excellent academic nurturing to its admitted students.
She said the school is leaving no stone unturned to raise its students to the highest level of academics through effective teaching and learning module.
Madam Essah-Amoaful uttered these assurances during the school's 70th anniversary, speech and prize-giving day themed "70 Years of Quality Education: Sustaining Our Gains in the New Technological World."
Speaking at the event, the headmistress noted that measures such as the QR code attendance monitoring system, early morning prep, and the effective implementation of the Ghana Education Service's (GES) T-TEL initiative have all been put in place to aid the school achieve its goal.
The colorful anniversary saw old students like Justice Kwesi Anin Yeboah, the immediate past Chief Justice of Ghana, former Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Mark Manu, Justice Nene Ofoe Amegatcher, a Supreme Court judge, Blessed Godsbrain Smart (Captain Smart), CEO for the Consumer Protection Agency (CPA), Kofi Owusu Hene (Kofi Kapito) among other reputable personalities.
Established in the year 1953, the school also prides itself on the immediate past Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Aaron Mike O. Quaye, Hon. Daniel Ohene Darko [Esq], MP for Upper Denkyira West Constituency, and the MP for Gomoa West Constituency, Hon. Richard Gyan-Mensah as its old students.
Justice Kwesi Anin Yeboah recounted that out of the seven (7) judges who sat on the election 2020 petition, three (3) appeared to be old students of Apam Senior High School having had the school top the law faculty admission at the University of Ghana in 1976.
He advised students to steadfastly take their books seriously and shun all social vises which will intend to shatter their future careers as well as extending his heartfelt appreciation to all whose unflinching contributions have propelled the school climb its attained pedestal.
According to Nana Obokomatta IX, Board Chairman for the school who doubles as an old student outlined Apam SHS has no school bus, assembly hall, and library facility hence calling on the government and benevolent stakeholders to come to the school's aid.
Meanwhile, old students of the school have purposed to raise an amount of $1million for the construction of a multi-purpose library complex estimated for completion in the next 10 years.
