Two policemen have sustained various degrees of injury as ghetto boys flee with handcuff after a team of police officers stormed residence to effect arrest on suspected criminals on hideout at Gomoa Nyanyano in the Gomoa East District in the Central Region.
Findings conducted by Sompa News Eric Annan indicates, some suspected criminals in a robbery attack on certain residents of Kasoa allegedly went and pitched camp at the ghetto which led to a police swoop at the area, resulting in an attack on police officers by a gang of ghetto boys.
The four (4) police officers who initially went for the arrest of these suspected criminals, considering the extent of hostility offered them had to call for re-enforcement from the Central East Regional Police Command.
Sources disclosed that eight (8) ghetto boys have been apprehended by the police thanks to the timely intervention of the Central East Regional Police Command while two others are on the run with the handcuff used on them.
The police officers were rushed to the Kasoa Polyclinic where they're reported to be responding to treatment.
Sarki Issaka Giwa, Zongo Chief of Gomoa Nyanyano having condemned the attack on the policemen noted that no indigene of Nyanyano can carry out such an act but outsiders. Revealing the community to be experiencing various form of social vises lately.
He disclosed the hideout of these notorious gangs to be Anyaase and Adabraka which are both suburb of Gomoa Nyanyano.
Meanwhile, the police is making necessary arrangements to process those arrested before court as a manhunt to arrest the two escaped fellows have been launched.
