15-year-old Winnifred Abena Binney has tragically passed on after a fence wall under construction collapsed on her at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality in the Central Region.

The incident which occurred on Saturday, June 10, 2023 saw the deceased playing with her three siblings while raining where the wambling wall fell on her.

Fortunately, the three siblings to the victim managed to escape the accident leaving the deceased trapped under the collapsed wall.

Mother to the deceased, Janet Binney narrated to Sompa News Eric Annan to be at sleep at the time of the incident when she heard a persistent call of her name which woke her up only to be briefed with the sad news.

She then rushed to the scene to find her daughter stuck under the collapsed wall where she called for neighbors to aid her out but unfortunately had the daughter dead upon rescued.

Yaw Binney, Kid Brother to the deceased said they were fetching water from the rains while playing when the unforseen circumstance took place.

He disclosed, this isn't the first time the wall has collapsed but the second time.

Meanwhile, the Central Regional Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) President, Isaac Owusu has unsubstantiatedly been identified as owner to the house which wall collapsed on the deceased young girl.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue of Roman Catholic Hospital in Mankessim with the incident reported to the police.
