Queen Mothers of the Saltpond Akyemfo market in the Mfantseman Municipality in the Central Region have unleashed their outmost displeasure over the unfair treatment showcased towards them by Hon. Ike Lord Ennu, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area.

According to them, accused the Honourable of trying all means possible to dissolve their market to subsequently relocate it to Mankessim having had Saltpond Akyemfo be the capital of the Mfantseman Municipality.

An act they profusely hinted will attract a naked demonstration against the MCE to have him axed from the assembly should he dare carry out such deed. Hence appealed to Nana Ama Takyiwaa II, the Guantuahemaa of Saltpond Akyemfo to call the MCE to order.

The aggrieved market Queen Mothers made this statement following a meeting with the Guantuahemaa at her residence over the unbearable behaviour of the MCE.

They added that amid all this, Hon. Ike Lord Ennu since his appointment to the area has fallen deaf ears to all their pleas submitted to his quarters, particularly the bizarre nature of their market.

Guantuahemaa of Saltpond Akyemfo, Nana Ama Takyiwaa II affirmed her readiness to rally support behind the frustrated Market Queen Mothers to retain their market at Saltpond in their naked demonstration should the levelled accusation manifest into reality.

She emphasized that the people of Saltpond which includes these market women together crowned her to ascend the throne she currently enjoys. For that matter can never turn her back at her people now that they need her the most.
