It was all joy amidst singing, drumming and dancing when the College of Health (CoH), Yamfo were presented with a trophy after beating the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) and the Sunyani Technical University (STU) in the soccer competition of the maiden edition of Sompa Tertiary Games held on Saturday July 15.
The activities in the maiden Sompa Tertiary Games include, Football, Volleyball, Table Tennis and Basketball.
The College of Health, Yamfo beat UENR and competed with STU in the finals of the soccer game.
They emerged winners with four (4) points and a goal difference to beat STU.
Meanwhile, STU were the winners of the Table Tennis competition with their ladies winning the Volley Ball competition.
The UENR were the champions for the Volleyball competition for the male side.
The Basketball competition was also won by the STU.
Akona Hafsah of STU won the female best volleyball player of the games whilst the best male volleyball player went to Obed Sarfo of UENR.
Kwoyire Rex was adjuged the best basketball player whilst Mbappe won the best football player of the competition.
Mr. Yaaka Bug, STU basketball coach applauded the management of TeraOne Media, operators of Sompa FM in Sunyani, Sompa FM in Kumasi and Sompa FM in Nkoranza for an opportunity granted them to socialize with the other tertiary institutions.
He commended the management and staff of Sompa 98.9FM for the successful organization of the event from the start to the end.
