A subsidiary of TeraOne media, Sompa 90.7 FM has unveiled a life-transforming program dubbed "Abibiman". The development-focused initiative is meant to redirect the youth's focus, stimulate minds and inculcate a sense of purpose in them.
The Nkoranza-based media station launched the program with Mr. Gyimah Johnson, popularly known as Ask God Only on Thursday, July 27, 2023, and will air every Thursday, between 8:00 - 9:30 am.
Speaking at the unveiling with Owoahene Acheampong, Ask God advocated for capacity building which he labeled as the nation's strength.
He called on the youth to pursue their dreams and attain higher heights by improving their knowledge, character, and skills every chance they get.
According to Ask God, fear has gripped the younger people making them unable to take risks, seek help when needed, and ask the thought-provoking questions which would have opened their eyes and minds to practical knowledge.
He stressed how powerful our minds are, emphasizing that they need constant development so we can solve real societal problems.
Criticizing the current education system, Mr. Johnson (Ask God) volunteered that some students are still confused about the foreign curriculum and standards. He cried about how we have refused to learn how our rich natural minerals work so we can properly tap into them.
"We do not have our way of learning as blacks. Yet, we have ignored practical education on our cocoa, diamond, and manganese. Our education should be centered on that and not about tasking students to find an imaginary X and Y." he cried.
