Minister for the Interior, Hon Ambrose Dery has through a statement declared Friday, 4^th August a public holiday.

The statement which was issued on 26^th July 2023 informed the general public to observe the statutory Public Holiday which marks the profound Founder’s Day throughout the country.  

It read "The general public is hereby informed that Friday, 4th August 2023 which marks Founders' Day, is a statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country."
