Some 600,714 candidates are expected to write this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), at 2,137 Examination Centres across the country. beginning today, Monday, 7th to Friday 11th August, 2023.
Out of the 600,714 candidates who are expected to sit the exam, there are 300, 323 males and 300, 391 female candidates. Number of participating schools in the 2023 BECE is 18,983.
In all, 2, 137 Supervisors will be at post with 2,000 Assistant Supervisors. In the examination halls, it is expected that some 21,027 Invigilators will perform their roles to ensure the examination is free, fair, and transparent among other things.
The Ghana Education Service in a goodwill message to the candidates advised them against all forms of examination malpractices as perpetrators will be swiftly dealt with.
