Twenty-one Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates of the New Vision Preparatory School at Mankessim in Mfantseman Constituency in the Central Region were sacked from their examination center at Mankessim Senior High School after their Headmaster's failure to register them upon collecting fees for the exams.
Students upon reaching their examination centre on Monday got to find out the index numbers given to them by their Headteacher and Proprietor, Mr. Frederick Sackey were fake, as their names weren't mentioned at the assembly gathering few minutes to the exams having well prepared for the BECE.
This left the students stranded as their Headmaster was nowhere to be found.
Parents of the students stormed the Examination Center and threatened to do everything possible to collect their monies from the school authorities and further called on the police to arrest them.
A report by Sompa News Eric Annan reveals that each of these affected candidates paid GH¢400 while one candidate paid GH¢600 due to his late registration with the school.
Some angry parents in an interview, revealed the incident not to be the first time such a thing has happened at the school.
They recounted such instance some years back saw this same Proprietor's father, Mr. Ekow Sackey run away with the BECE registration fees of candidates.
Incensed students who couldn't hold their peace, demanded for a refund of their registration fees.
They uncovered school authorities to be insincere after having them collect money for the construction of a school wall, library and lacoste all to no avail.
Parents of the affected candidates have filed a report of the occurrence to the Mankessim Police Station as the Headmaster is said to have bolted pending his arrest.
