AngloGold Ashanti, Obuasi Mine this morning demonstrated their commitment towards improvement in the BECE pass rate in Obuasi by cutting sod for the construction of an ultramodern Examination printing center in the Obuasi East District.
When completed, the newly established Examination Printing Centre will play a pivotal role in assisting the Education Directorate of the Obuasi East District Assembly with the necessary resources to print and administer Mock Exam materials to help better prepare candidates for the BECE.
The company will again furnish the facility to serve it purpose, all to the tune of Gh800,000.
According to the Senior Manager, Sustainability Emmanuel Baidoo establishing an Examination Printing Centre aligns with their broader Community Investment goals under the 10-year socio-economic development plan, which focuses on various initiatives aimed at enhancing education, promoting sustainability, and fostering socio-economic development.
Hon Faustina Amissah, the Chief Executive for the Obuasi East District lauded AngloGold Ashanti for their investment in education in Obuasi.
She said the Examination printing center comes as a huge relief to the Assembly stressing that they spends huge chunk of their budgetary allocations on preparing BECE candidates for their main exams.

The contractor for the project is Obuasi based Bachor constructions limited. The Managing Director Jonas Davoro said the project will have storage area, office, production and printing area and borehole.
He said the project will be completed in 3 months time assuring that they will do a good work to justify the confidence the company has reposed in local contractors from Obuasi.
AngloGold Ashanti will soon cut sod for the construction of similar facility in the Obuasi Municipality.
