The Central Regional head office of the Centre for National Culture (CNC) in Cape Coast has graduated 113 individuals with skilled labour under its C. Carl Oparebea Marketable Training Program.
The annually held one month training program which commenced about two years ago had its 7th edition come off on Friday, August 18, 2023 themed: "CNC: A Cartelist For Economic Development Through Entrepreneurship."
The training program saw graduands took course on hairdressing, basic sawing, hair braiding, bead making, fascinator and other crafts, art painting, macramé, decoration and floral arts among others.
Hon. Kwamena Minta Nyarku, the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North Constituency having lauded the program to be a wonderful initiative instituted by CNC, footed the expenses of twenty (20) individuals from his constituency to partake in the marketable training program.
Speaking to Sompa News after the graduation ceremony, Hon. Minta Nyarku revealed that him facilitating for 20 youths within his constituency to acquire a skill from the marketable training organized by CNC fits into his vision for Cape Coast North of 'reducing poverty and improving livelihood through entrepreneurship, empowerment and sustainable development' and assured to do more going forward.
Nana Otuo Owoahene Acheampong, Executive Director for the National Commission on Culture having graced the occasion urged graduands to put their acquired training into practice to be good ambassadors of the program to compel others partake in the program's subsequent editions.
Some graduands equally expressed their gratitude to CNC for helping alleviate them from being a liability to their families through its marketable skill training offered them.
