Former Deputy Minister for Education and the immediate past Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North Constituency in the Central Region, Barbara Asher Ayisi has entreated the country's movie industry, particularly its producers to cultivate the habit of projecting Ghana's culture through their movie contents.
Speaking to Sompa News Eric Annan, she emphasized that should the country's movie industry gain grounds during this period of global economic challenge, will have no option than to sell Ghana's richly endowed culture to the outside world.
The former Minister and MP said this at the Kwaprow Ahobaa festival celebrated on the theme: "Our Culture Our Heritage, Our Children Our Future, Send Your Child To School."
She bemoaned the level of prioritization channeled towards education in the country should have the same seriousness attached to the projection of the Ghanaian culture.
According to her, tourists who troops to the country only seeks to witness the country's indigenous culture and not theirs. Hence the need for the movie industry to market Ghana's culture through its content.
Barbara Ayisi further entreated all to eschew the mental slavery of shyness when exhibiting the Ghanaian culture as the country has a lot of beautiful things to project.
