29-year-old journalist, Isaac Kwame Egyama Ocran popularly known as Big Money who doubles as a taxi driver has allegedly been killed at the police cell after arrest by the Mankessim Jedu Divisional Police Command in the Mfantseman Municipality in the Central Region.

Information gathered by Sompa News Eric Annan uncovers, the deceased following his death had the neck tied with a rope.

Report has it that the deceased journalist, who emerge a Disc Jocker (DJ) with Mankessim-based Coastal FM on his daily routine as a taxi driver on Friday, September 1, 2023 had the police stop him at a barrier but declined to the call hence warranted for his arrest the following day and was put before the Mankessim Jedu Police Cell where he called his car owner to come to his aid who did.

According to report, the car owner upon his preview to the case, rushed to the police station for settlement with an assurance to pay every cost imposed on his driver.

Hence returned home for money to settle the case where a distress call came in from the police quarters about 30minutes after he had left the station, informing him his driver has hanged himself to death at the police cell.

Checks reveal that, before the car owner could return to the police station, the police had already taken the deceased to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital Mortuary without the knowledge of any family member.

Abena Menu, Mother of the deceased in an interview accused the police for killing her son and promised to pour libation to curse whoever is behind the son's death, having noted the deceased to be the family's sole bread winner.

Father to the deceased, Mr. Moses Ocran called on the police to come out and explain to the family where exactly his son got the rope they recount he used in hanging himself while in police custody.

He then kicked against the decision of the police wanting to carry out an autopsy on his son after allegedly killing him.

Some residents and family members equally shared their grieve towards the occurrence and warned the police never to step foot anywhere near the residence of the deceased, else will kill them also to apiece the alleged gruesome murder of their beloved fellow.
