Six farming communities in the Sene West District are cut off from each other following torrential rains which hit the area on Tuesday.
The downpour has flooded and worsened the deplorable condition of the roads linking the various communities and left residents in a state of dilemma, unable to travel and also to their farms.
The worst affected areas, Sompa FM in Sunyani learnt were roads that linked Kwame Danso and Dwankrom, Lassi and Menkor, Akyeremade as well as Akyeremade Battor.
These stretches had been deplorable condition for years, but residents lamented successive government had failed to reshape them to facilitate the movement of the people and their economic activities.
Speaking in a telephone interview with Sompa FM, Mr Joseph Owusu Brenya, a resident of Dwankrom said the residents had persistently appealed to the District Assembly and the Member of Parliament, but nothing had been done on the roads.
He said due to the worsened conditions of the roads, the people were unable to go to their farms, and as a result quantities of their farm produce had been left rotten in the farms.
Mr Brenya therefore appealed to the government to come to their aid and at least reshape the roads and make it motorable, saying because of the deteriorated nature of the road commercial drivers had failed to ply on them.
