26-year-old Electrician, James Awokye has suffered death after severe butchering by unknown assailants, with body parts taken off at Kasoa New Market in the Awutu Senya East Municipality in the Central Region.

A report by Sompa News Eric Annan indicates, the victim who was discovered naked, had his body depict to be physically assaulted prior to his gruesome murder before been dumped at the market.

According to sources, the barbaric act which took place at the blind side of both traders and residents of the area was carried out at dawn around 2am.

Mr. Christopher Appiah, the NADMO Officer in charge of Kpomtey Zonal Council in an interview clarified that, deceased was rather attacked at Kasoa-Asempa Down, behind the Omega School but was later deposited at the Kasoa New Market.

Residents of the area following the incident, called on the Central East Police Command to beef up security at the Kasoa New Market since murder cases in the area appears to be on the rise.

They described that both eyes of the deceased were plunged off, together with his jaw and one ear.

Root cause to the attack of the deceased is yet to be established as police launches investigation into the incident after victim's body was conveyed to the mortuary for autopsy.
