Commercial drivers and pedestrian in Sunyani have expressed disgust about the non-function of some traffic lights in the capital.
They are therefore calling on the city authorities to fix the lights to advert possible crashes and pedestrians knockdown.
Some of the traffic lights in the capital, including the one at the Central Business District (CBD), Sunyani Municipal Hospital and the Volta River Authority enclave had not been functioning months now.
In an interview with Sompa FM in Sunyani, the drivers complained the non-functioning of the traffic light were not only obstructing and making driving difficult, but also causing insanity on the road.
When contacted, Mr John Ansu Kumi, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive said the Assembly was working with the relevant institutions to re- fix the lights.
He expressed worry some of the traffic lights in the capital were obsolete and ample time was needed to replace or repair them.
That notwithstanding, Mr Ansu Kumi said consultant from the Urban Development Authority through the second phase of the Sunyani Secondary City Project had completed feasibility studies and therefore working to repair the faulty traffic lights and replace the obsolete ones under the project.
