Fishermen of Kafodzidzi in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Constituency in the Central Region has beseeched their Member of Parliament, Hon. Samuel Atta-Mills to liaise with the government to provide them a landing site as the area's unwavering sea storm over the years seize to dwindle their productivity.
According to them, the often experienced tidal waves of the area has practically turned them useless with little or no serious work to do at the shore whenever they go fishing. As a countless number of canoes they use in hunting fishes have all gotten spoilt over the heavy storm force experiencing at the area.
The fisherfolks relayed all this following the MP's courtesy visit to the area.
They revealed to have had a good number of fisherfolks travel as far as Sekondi and Elmina to fish at the area but have all traveled to seek greener pastures elsewhere due to the community's low fishing rate over their lack of a befitting landing site.
Hon. Samuel Atta-Mills having steadily listened to the plea of the fishermen, recounted not to commit himself with any promise but will as swiftly as possible attend to their call as he did to their deplorable road network which was on construction few years back only for it to be cut back immediately the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government assumed office.
