The Sunyani Cluster of the Child Development Centres (CDCs) at the weekend organised "spelling B" quiz competition for the 14 clusters of the Center in the Bono and Ahafo Regions.
In all the 14 clusters were divided into two for the contest which centered on spellings and aimed at improving the reading and comprehension among the CDC.
Compassion International, an NGO supported religious bodies to establish the CDCs to support in the proper upbringing and development of vulnerable in the two regions.
The Hwidiem CDCs emerged the ultimate winner of the Spelling B competition with Berekum CDC and Bomaa CDC placing the second and third positions respectively.
For their prize, each of the participants relieved educational materials including reading and exercise books, pens and other learning materials.
In an interview with Sompa FM in Sunyani, Mr Joseph Baafara, the Chairman of the Planning Committee and the Project Director of the Yawhima CDC commended children for their brilliant performance and have a highlight of the CDC concept.
