Chief of Assin Asaman in the Central Region who doubles as Kyidomhene for the Effutuakwa Traditional Council, Osabariba Danso Kwarteng lll has tasked GHOne TV, a subsidiary of the EIB Network to render him an unqualified apology, coupled with a retraction over its aired news against him few days back.
The publication which has never gone down well with the chief who appears a senior police officer, saw him described by the aforementioned media house as a self-acclaimed chief of Assin Asaman, having been enstooled and gazetted by both the Central Regional and National House of Chiefs since 2018 upon the demise of Nana Wadie Asiri, popularly known as Nana Kumkum Bagia.
Brouhaha surrounding Osabariba Danso Kwarteng's news airing, emanated after an ensued physical confrontation between himself and one identified military officer, Jonathan Nuamah and his guys expressed to have been attacked and injured by the chief who was referred to have been parading himself as chief of Assin Asaman.
But according to Osabariba Danso Kwarteng in his one page documented press release, narrated that on Monday, October 16, 2023 evening upon returning home from a traditional council meeting at Assin Fosu, got attacked by Jonathan Nuamah and his team of soldiers with a gun and cutlass, thus led to a struggle between them which the chief cum police officer overpowered them to finally get them arrested.
The chief, moreover, rubbished the publication by GHOne TV to be a totally fabricated falsehood with no iota of truth.
Hence, requires of GHOne TV and its compatriot media houses who aired the news, describing him as a self-acclaimed chief of Assin Asaman to swiftly come out and render him an unqualified apology with a retraction of the news item, else face a legal action from him.
The two, Jonathan Nuamah and Osabariba Danso Kwarteng having hailed from the same royal family, have since 2018 been on a tug-of-war over the legitimacy of who the Assin Asaman throne truly belongs to, with series of lawsuit, wherein Jonathan Nuamah has repeatedly seek to challenged the enstoolment of Osabariba Danso Kwarteng to be unlawful.
Meanwhile, Osabariba Danso Kwarteng has accused Jonathan Nuamah to have brought soldiers from Tamale to Assin Asamang on June 17, 2018 for his illegal installation, after which he has been boasting as the Assin Asamang chief.
